Our Methods

To maximise the use of our data sets and to represent voices from both mothers and fathers of children starting school, we included audio clips from two studies - the NewFAMS and the Ready or Not Study. All our interviews with the parents were conducted by phone or via zoom. The transcripts were analysed by inductive and deductive thematic analysis, informed by findings reported in Dempsey et al (2024) and Alter et al (2026).
